How to connect multiple Gmail accounts to Claude
The email you need is not always in the inbox you connected. A client sends a brief to your work address, a receipt lands in your personal Gmail, and the follow-up sits in a separate account. Asking Claude to help means giving it access to the relevant context across those accounts.
Claude's native Gmail connector works with the Google account you have connected, as described in Anthropic's Google Workspace guide. If your setup gives Claude only one Gmail connection, Laplace lets you connect additional Gmail accounts and make them available through a single Laplace connector.
Each mailbox stays a separate connection. You can tell Claude which account to use, or ask it to search several accounts for the same task.
1. Connect your first Gmail account in Laplace
Sign in to Laplace and choose the account where you want to keep your connections. Open Connections, find Gmail, and start the connection flow.
Choose the Google account you want to add, review the requested permissions, and complete Google's authorization. Return to Laplace and check that the connection appears. If you are using a shared organization, an owner or admin may need to connect the account.
2. Add your other Gmail accounts
Open the Gmail connection's menu and choose Add another connection. Complete the Google authorization again, selecting your second email address. Repeat for any other Gmail account you need.
Check the account details after each connection. If Google selects the account you already connected, choose a different account before completing authorization. You want separate mailbox connections, not another authorization for the same inbox.
3. Add Laplace to Claude
In Laplace, open Setup and choose Claude for the instructions matching your client. For Claude on the web, open Customize → Connectors, select + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Laplace and enter this server address:
https://connect.withlaplace.com/mcp
Follow Claude's prompts to finish adding the connector, sign in to Laplace, and authorize the account containing your Gmail connections. Adding the server address alone does not complete sign-in.
Anthropic's custom connector guide covers the current setup options. Custom connectors are available on Claude Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise; Claude Free currently allows one custom connector. Team and Enterprise users may need an organization owner to add Laplace first. These are Claude's connector limits, separate from your Laplace plan.
4. Check that Claude can see each mailbox
Start a conversation and enable Laplace from Claude's + → Connectors menu. Ask:
Using Laplace, list my connected Gmail accounts and show the email address for each one.
Confirm that the addresses match the accounts you intended to connect. If an account is missing, check that it appears in Laplace and that Claude is authorized for the Laplace account containing it.
Then try a small request against one mailbox before searching across all of them:
Using my work Gmail account in Laplace, find messages from the last seven days about the Acme proposal. Summarize the open questions and identify the source messages.
5. Give Claude the context for the whole task
Once the connections are working, describe both the job and the accounts Claude should use:
Search my personal and work Gmail accounts through Laplace for messages about next week's conference. Pull together the registration details, travel confirmations, and outstanding questions. Label each result with its source account.
Or keep a task within one account:
In my client Gmail account, find the latest design feedback and summarize what changed since the previous review. Leave the other inboxes out of this task.
Naming the accounts helps Claude choose the right connections. For replies, specify the sending account and ask to review the draft before it is sent. The actions available depend on the Gmail permissions you granted and the tools enabled in your conversation.
Laplace provides the connections so your AI agent can work with the information behind the request. Multiple Gmail accounts are one useful starting point: the same approach lets you bring other supported services into the tasks that need them.
